If you are laying
the flooring on top of an existing floor, you will
need to saw off the base of the door frame.
Remove just enough to allow you to slide the floor
lining and a board into the gap.
Remove the old skirting boards in the room.

|
|
|
Clean the old floor.
Lay the plastic sheeting and the floor lining (plastic
sheetings should overlap by 20cm). |
| |
|
Check that no boards
are damaged. Saw and lay the first 2 rows of flooring
without gluing them. To compensate for movements in
the flooring caused by changes in the weather, leave
gap of 8-10mm to walls, thresholds, pipes, stairs,
columns and other permanent fixtures. Lay the first
board with the two grooved edges against the wall.
As shown in figure, add spacer
blocks to straighten the rows.

|
|
|
Start the second row with the piece
of board left over from the first (The left-over
piece should not be used if length is less than
20cm).
|
| |
|
| Stagger the boards by
at least 20cm, as shown in figure. |
