Apply a liberal
amount of glue to the grooves of the boards in the
first 2 rows in the order shown. Squeeze out a bead
of glue along the entire length of the groove including
the short end.
|
| |
|
|
Tap the boards carefully
into place.

Wipe off any surplus
glue with a damp cloth. For a successful result, it
is essential that you get the first 2 rows right.
Allow the boards to dry for one hour before gluing
and laying the rest of the flooring. |

To get the last
row of boards in place: Place a whole board exactly
on the top of this, with the tongue pressed against
the wall with spacer blocks into place (as shown in
figure). Draw a line on the board in the middle using
the groove of the top board as a ruler. Saw along
the line. The part of the middle board with a groove
is now to be fitted against the wall. Repeat until
the last row is finished.

Use the last-board tool to pull
the last row of boards up tight. Apply spacer blocks
and leave them in place for at least 12 hours. Replace
the skirting boards after removing the spacer blocks.

| When laying flooring
in lengths or widths greater than 10m, leave an expansion
gap after each 10m stretch and cover it with a motion
profile. |
